Tell us about your company.
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS provides complete drive solutions to over 100 industries worldwide. We offer high-efficiency gear units, motors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) with over 20,000,000 standard configurations. NORD specializes in solutions that are efficient, reliable, and built to meet the most demanding applications. We’re excited to be at PACK EXPO Booth N-4924 to showcase our packaging solutions and give customers the opportunity to speak directly with our experts.
Your company will be exhibiting at PACK EXPO International, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?
PACK EXPO is the ideal place to connect with customers, partners, and suppliers who are focused on the Packaging Industry. These connections help us further understand market needs and demonstrate what NORD can deliver to streamline operations, provide high ROI, and lower the Total Cost of Ownership. Every packaging application has its own unique requirements, and we consider it an industry all on its own, rather than a subset of another industry such as Food and Beverage or Healthcare.
What makes your booth a must visit for PACK EXPO Attendees?
This year NORD will be showcasing intelligent electronic control products, high efficiency gearmotors, and our new NXD tupH Sealed Surface Conversion Solution - a state-of-the-art surface treatment for wash-down applications such as those in primary and secondary packaging systems. NXD tupH offers greater cost effectiveness, less weight thanks to the aluminum housings, and better heat dissipation in comparison to stainless steel. We encourage everyone to stop by to see what we have to offer and discuss their upcoming projects.
When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see? Any educational sessions, pavilions etc. you plan on attending?
I’m excited to see the advancement of robotics within automation and how NORD can support this evolution. With how fast automation is growing and changing, it is essential to keep our finger on the pulse of new technologies and react accordingly. NORD is always thinking about how we can support our customers now and in the future.
AI will of course be a huge topic. Be it automation, robotics, how is your companies services and products utilizing AI within the packaging industry?
NORD utilizes AI in its day-to-day operations to provide efficient customer support and identify opportunities to save time and resources. This allows us to stay ahead of potential issues and keep customer operations running smoothly and worry-free. AI will never replace humans, but we must make a conscious effort to work with it in order to keep up with customer needs and shifts within the markets we serve.
Give us your thoughts on what the future holds for robotics and automation within the packaging industry.
Robotics and automation will continue to evolve and grow within the Packaging Industry. Efficiency and sustainability have become increasingly important topics, and NORD is addressing them at a global level to ensure our customers receive the best possible value for their investments. We also want our customers to have peace of mind that when they are using NORD products, they can trust them fully and in the uncommon event that there are issues, we will back them up.
